I'm guessing you've reasoned that presents are square, Santa is the bringer of presents and Christmas is all about giving and receiving presents; therefore Santa could be represented by a red square? I suppose that's fine if your view on Christmas is that it's all about the presents? So semiotically it's fine, well...if you've got the visual grammar of a 6 year old child that is.
